Backend Developer

Koombea is a software consultancy company specialized in mobile and web development projects. These are some of the highlights of my role as a Backend Developer.

• Worked on the development of a Project Management System (PSM) and an API for an online chat service used to provide live customer support. I used Ruby on Rails, AWS SNS, Action Cable, and OAuth2 Provider to build a robust and secure backend for the application.
• Developed a custom API for SmallDoor Inc. The final product seamlessly integrates a series of third-party services that the company uses to manage subscription plans, memberships, appointments, consultations, and order placements. The technologies I worked with in this project were Ruby on Rails, Clover, Intercom, Provet, Stripe, Twilio, and SendGrid.
• Responsible for the custom API development of LINCSPRING. I used Ruby on Rails, Google Drive Integration, and Rspec to create a high-quality application that helps schools and teachers through consultancy, professional development, and blended learning.
• Used Ruby on Rails and AWS SNS to support the Shine API development project, guaranteeing the efficiency and security of the backend of their mobile application. Now, the software is able to process several complex services like user account management, chat, point systems, and streaming.
• Supported the development of an integrated, cross-channel platform for Iterable. I worked mainly with the Shopify API to deliver custom solutions tailored for marketers.

Amerika October 2015 - May 2018

Development Engineer

I was the Technical Lead and Senior IT Developer for Amerika, a Colombian IT company.

• Analyzed the general requirements of software development and IT projects, focusing on cost and resources estimations, architecture design, and development review.
• Designed the base architecture and led a major app migration for the company. We migrated from Oracle Forms to Java Enterprise Edition over a services-oriented architecture, using JavaServer Faces (JSF) as the frontend framework.
• Defined the standards and guidelines for Java Applications and the development of web services in the company.
• I was responsible for evaluating and selecting all the methodologies and tools used in Java projects.

Java Consultant

My role here was focused on the development of JPF, JSF, and STRUTS frameworks with some JavaScript and jQuery on the side.

• Developed the eCommerce platform, website, and virtual branch office of VTR, a Chilean telecommunications company. The technologies I worked with on this project were JSF 2.1, Managed Beans, Oracle Web Center Portal, Oracle Web Center Sites, and jQuery.
• Designed and developed a tariff management system for Entel MDM platforms using JSF 2.1, Managed Beans, Oracle Web Center Portal, Oracle Center Sites, and jQuery.
• Worked on the development of a web services platform used as an Active Directory for user management.
• Developed a logistics and mobility management application for the Santiago Airport in Chile.
• Developed several HTML models and provided website maintenance for a major health clinic in Santiago, Chile.

• Develop web pages and custom web applications for the company using HTML, CSS3, JavaScript, PHP 5, jQuery, Java, and MySQL.
• Manage requirement analyses and lead the database design of new web applications.
