Professional Bio

Since the first time I had the opportunity to use a computer at the age of 14, I quickly became curious to understand how it worked, so I took two courses: Computer Maintenance at the age of 15, and Web Development at the age of 16. Since then, I have always maintained my motivation and excitement about computers and software development. Later, this led me to pursue a degree in computer engineering, which gave me a strong theoretical background about hardware and software. It's almost indescribable how much I enjoy creating solutions for the most diverse types of problems using just one basic machine. Today, my favorite technology is JavaScript/TypeScript to create applications for the web, mobile, and back end using React, React Native, and Node.js. Since the first time I had the opportunity to work with this stack, I was delighted by how easily I was able to create different types of applications. I'm calm, resilient, and loyal, and when I'm not working, I love taking photos of nature and human made structures, and doing outdoor activities such as hiking or just taking time to browse a random new place like a new city or a new neighborhood. I also enjoy learning and working on my personal software projects, from 2D physics engines to low level electronic circuits.

Full Stack Developer

Gestorama allows consultants and influencers to create and share groups with exclusive content by charging their clients through monthly subscriptions. As a Full Stack Developer, I worked on:

  • A mobile app to allow users to create groups. The app helps users by offering group subscriptions to their customers, payment reports, shared file management, live chat, and notifications. I planned and implemented the main features of the app, such as authentication, push notifications, real-time chat, file storage, file sharing, and digital wallets. The app was built with React Native, Google Cloud Services, and Juno API.
  • A serverless REST API using Google Cloud Functions to handle all the traffic, and manage payments, authentication, and notifications. I implemented each endpoint to provide all the data for the front-end application following requirements and using third-party APIs to provide services. It was created with Google Cloud Services and TypeScript.
  • The app's front end, which provides a great user experience and follows the guidelines for material design. I designed and prototyped the application screens and implemented them using React Native.

Software Engineer

As a freelance Software Engineer, I analyzed clients' needs and delivered the best solutions possible. My work included:

  • A mobile app for geologists to sense and store geo coordinates while the user works in the field. The app also included a web-based version to report the data by rendering the path polygons over the map, computing area information, sorting and filtering by location/timestamp/description, and exporting and importing data using different protocols. It was built with React Native, Node.js, PostgreSQL, Docker, and EC2.
  • An app that allows customers of a small barbershop to schedule appointments, as well as allows employees to manage the calendar, edit schedules, set payments, and send messages to customers. It was built with React Native, React, Node.js, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis, TypeORM, Docker, EC2, and S3.
  • An app able to process an online video stream by applying computer vision techniques to track a person's path inside a small grocery store to extract information about customer behavior. It was built with C++ and OpenCV.

The University of Wisconsin-LaCrosse is a satellite campus of Wisconsin's largest public university system. As a Software engineer, I worked on:

  • An experiment to allow a mobile application to take photos of buildings to send to a local server. The server application would extract features from the image using image processing techniques to try to identify buildings in the photo from previous features stored in the database. I implemented both the mobile and server apps using C++, OpenCV, Kotlin, and SQLite.
  • A smart outlet to track the power consumption. The outlet sends usage information to a local server, and the web application plots information about the consumption using graphics and tables. I implemented the electronics and web dashboard with C++, PHP, and MySQL.
