Professional Bio

I have been working with software development for over 15 years. Initially I worked with desktop software, then with mobile apps. In the last eight years I've been a full-stack web developer with a heavier focus on the back end. I always seek to develop solutions that deliver value, but without losing focus on the quality of the code. Software design and development is my passion. I believe that constant learning and adaptation to frequent changes are the keys to success. When I'm not working, I like to barbecue, ride my bike, and to watch soccer.

Globo July 2017 - March 2021

Senior Software Engineer

Globo is Brazil's largest media company. As a Senior Software Engineer, I worked on:

  • Encoding Center, an app to receive raw videos and generate several different renditions to be delivered via video players. I maintained the app's current features and developed the best encoding ladder/renditions for each content type. It was built with Ruby on Rails, MongoDB, Resque, FFmpeg, and VMAF.
  • Container Broker, an app that distributes batch work loads among hundreds of machines using the Docker HTTP API. I helped create and deply the app with seven other team members and fixed concurrent issues. It uses Ruby on Rails Rails, Docker HTTP API, and Sidekiq.
Wonder Sistemas October 2004 - July 2017

Software Engineer

Wonder Sistemas develops ERPs for businesses. As a Software Engineer, I worked on:

  • Probus, a fully fuctional Enterprise Resource Planning platform. I developed and maintained internal modules and developed a new module to collect anonymous system usage synced with the cloud to decide which parts of the system should should have resources allocated to them and which could be deprecated. The ERP runs on Delphi, Oracle, and Windows.
  • Probus Mobile, which extends the company's primary ERP to allow salespeople to register orders on mobile devices. I modified the application to run offline in older Android phones and to sync with the ERP in an era when mobile technologies were not so fully developed. It uses Rhomobile, SQLite, Ruby on Rails, and Oracle.
