Professional Bio

I am the youngest of three brothers and both of them studied programming, so eversince I was a kid I knew how to make simple web pages with HTML. What began as a hobby turned into a passion, and when it came time for me to decide on a career, the choice was easy. I love creating projects from scratch that can potentially impact the lives of thousands or even millions of people, and I strive to create good products that will benefit anyone who uses them. My favorite technology to work with is JavaScript — even if it's not perfect, I really love its versatility and the ability it gives you to develop desktop apps, mobile apps, web pages, back ends, and IoT services, among many others. I'm honest, curious and friendly, and when I'm not working I like to go tango dancing, discover new music, and play video games.

Employment History

FullStack Labs January 2021 - Present

Software Engineer

At FullStack Labs, I'm responsible for creating solutions using React, Angular, JavaScript, and more.

Freelancer December 2017 - January 2021

Full Stack Web Developer

I worked as an independent freelancer performing full-stack web development for companies ranging from small business to large corporations. I worked on:

  • A sales app for Casa Cravioto, Latin American hardware-store chain. The app provides a catalog and allows for point-of-sale transactions. I designed, developed, and maintained the app, which now processes 5 million pesos monthly, and I built offline functionality. It was built with Magento 2, Ionic, TypeScript, JavaScript, PHP, Metabase, and AWS.
  • League Manager, an app for managing and displaying sports tournaments. I fixed legacy code, migrated the server, updated the site's WordPress version, and completed the tournament-scheduling module. It was developed with WordPress, MySQL, Debian, PHP and Apache.
  • EMSI Costos, an app for cost management on construction projects. I refactored the existing code base, develop new back-end and front-end code, and provided overall maintenance. It was written with PHP, Laravel, Debian, STMP server, Redis, C3.js, OPUS, NeoData and and React.
  • Kaneda Golf, an eCommerce website for the official distributor of PING Golf in Mexico. I migrated the abandoned project from Magento 1 to Magento 2, preserving the custom variables in the process. In addition to Magento, it was created with MySQL, PHP, and OpenPay.
Nech Consulting Group January 2019 - August 2020

Associate Consultant / Programmer

Nech provides logistical support to SMEs. As an Associate Consultant / Programmer, I worked on:

  • Sitrack, a Business Intelligence board on Windows Server with Power BI that displays the status of a truck fleet. I designed, developed, and maintained the project myself using Power BI, SQL Server, Windows Server R2 2012, and Python.
  • The landing pafe for Kine Technologies, a Mexican software consultancy. It was written with HTML, JavaScript, and CSS.
RoadGoat May 2018 - January 2020

Head of Front-End Development

RoadGoat lets users map where they've traveled by connecting their social media, wearables, and email. As Head of Front-End Development, I worked on:

  • The main platform, which provides social networking for traveling. I led front-end development and coordinated with the CEO and back-end team to decide which direction the project should take. I migrated the platform's GIS features from Google Maps to Mapbox and created new responsive elements and features. The platform's front-end was built first with Angular and then was migrated to React.
