Professional Bio

During my studies in Editorial Production, I realized I was less interested in designing for paper than I was for the screen. So I started to pay more attention to how people's digital interactions. Why were they drawn to a specific site or app? What did they click within the app? And why did they choose to spend more time in one product instead of another? That’s when I discovered the value of good interface design and user experience, and their overall importance to a product or service. As a professional UI/UX Designer, I get to impact how a product looks and behaves, and consequently, I get to see not how people use them, but also the emotions evoked by their usage. I prefer working in Figma; it’s focused on teams designing for screens and every feature was built with that in mind. I'm curious and determined but also laid back. I love to read fiction and nonfiction books in equal measure, and I try to read at least one book a month. I also love to run, especially on trails, but I don’t mind jogging through a concrete jungle as well.

Employment History

FullStack Labs December 2019 - Present

Senior Software Engineer

At FullStack Labs, I'm responsible for designing user interfaces that not only look great but that also delight their users. I'm currently working on:

  • Migrating the FullStack Labs website from its legacy framework to Webflow. I'm helping design and build new landing pages and adding features beyond Webflow's capabilities. The new site also utilizes JavaScript and various third-paty integrations like HubSpot.

I previously worked on:

  • Faith Comes By Hearing, an app that delivers an audio version of the Bible. I worked on the site redesign to emphasize the organization's mission and product offerings, and to allow people to donate to support its cause. I built the site myself using Webflow.
Freelance January 2015 - November 2019

UI/UX Designer

As a freelance designer, I offered UX, UI, and branding services to local and overseas clients. My work included:

  • Creating an interactive map for Banco de La República, Colombia's central bank, which locates points of cultural memory. I provided both design and full-stack development and was able to retain the aesthetics of the print version of the map in the digital version. The map was created by three people and myself using Adobe Illustrator, Mapbox, HTML, and JavaScript.
  • Crafting the visual identity of Sierra María, a premium medicinal cannabis company in Colombia. The company needed an aesthetic that accurately portrayed the origin of their product in the Sierra Nevada of Santa Marta. I designed their branding with Adobe Illustrator.
  • Designed the UI and UX of Hello Build, a meditation app. The app tracks a user's meditation progress and was designed with Figma and Sketch.
Ikone International June 2015 - March 2016

Front-End Developer

Ikone is a boutique agency located in Miami, FL. As a Front-End Developer, I:

  • Built the website for Aventura Park Square, a mixed-use real estate development in Aventura, Florida. The site's design was laid out in InVision and Sketch and was built with Angular, HTML, and CSS.
  • Overhauled the web app of Tenant Evaluation, the leading provider of technology-based solutions for background screening and tenant application processing. I successfully built all the site's screens and possible user flows with InVision, Sketch, Angular, HTML, and CSS.
  • Created the front end for a web app for Zinc Smart Contracts, which provides payment and identity management for real estate. The app handles all of Zinc's application processes and manages its users. It was created with InVision, Sketch, Angular, HTML, and CSS.
Backbone Technology October 2013 - January 2015

Front-End Developer

Backbone is a digital web agency that specializes in developing dynamic and interactive websites and web-based applications. As a Front-End Developer, I:

  • Designed the Colombian website of Papa John's, which sells cook-your-own pizzas. The site includes a menu and ordering portal for customers where they can place and track their purchases. I helped build the site's front end using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and designed the layout in Adobe Photoshop.
