Professional Bio
I've always loved the idea of an algorithm, that a computer can follow a series of steps to solve a problem. For me, coding is just plain fun, and the more I learn, the more I enjoy it. It's not just for my own gratification — each piece of software I build improves lives. I've built software for the largest bank in Colombia, a major health insurer, and an exoskeleton manufacturer. When I develop, I know that I'm part of something larger than just myself. I'm analytical, reliable, and committed. In addition to programming, I love photography and making music.

FullStack Labs July 2018 - Present
Senior Software Engineer
As a Senior Software Engineer at FullStack Labs, I'm responsible for providing value to each of our clients by analyzing every last requirement of their project and delivering quality, tested code. I'm currently working on:
- Building out new features for Wambi, a patient-focused platform that allows patients to review their caregivers. I work on a team of six developers who are modernizing the current Laravel-based app into one that also uses React components. I also built a chatbot using Amazon Lex and AWS Lambda that allows patients to perform caregiver reviews. In addition to React and Laravel, the team and I utilize Node.js and MySQL.
My previous projects have included:
- Building e-commerce features for the American Academy of CRNAs, a labor platform that matches health care providers with nurse anesthetists. I used Ruby on Rails to implement a payment portal into the website using Stripe, created a back-end for administrative access, edited the free trial account logic, and made minor changes in the UI.
- Improving and maintaining Bunk1, an app that lets parents stay connected with their kids at camp. My team of six worked on refreshing the app's design, building a dashboard that allows parents to access content and information related to camp and their children, and fixed ongoing app issues involving image uploads. We worked in Ruby on Rails and PostgreSQL.
- Developing the data pipeline for Esko Bionics, a leading manufacturer of human exoskeletons. Along with two other developers, I built API endpoints to send and receive exoskeleton data for graph reports, implemented testing and integration, and built the client app using React. We also used Ruby on Rails and MySQL.
- Performed maintenance and debugging for SunDoc Filings, a company that provides easy-to-use legal document filing services. I used React and Ruby on Rails.
Youse September 2017 - July 2018
Web Developer
Youse is a Brazilian insurance company that uses gamification and AI to innovate how insurance is priced and delivered. While a Web Developer at Youse, I:
- Integrated Amazon Rekognition with one of the app's authentication microservices. Using Ruby on Rails and React, I also implemented various front-end and back-end features and improvements.
Bancolombia December 2016 - September 2017
Web Developer
Bancolombia is the largest bank in Colombia. While a Web Developer, I:
- Built Rótalo, a marketplace for Colombians to buy and sell all kinds of goods, with the option to finance purchases with Bancolombia credit. I lead a team of four developers and one designer, building the client with Angular.js and building out the marketplace's API. The project was completed weeks before our estimated delivery date. In addition to Angular, we also used Ruby on Rails.
Aetna November 2014 - December 2016
Web Developer
Aetna is one of the world's largest health insurance providers. While a Web Developer at Aetna, I:
- Helped develop NeoNatal, an app that lets doctors communicate with parents when their children are in the NICU using text and video chat, and updates parents on the status of their children. Along with a 14-person team, I created secure API endpoints, implemented new client features, and resolved bugs and performance problems. The app was developed with Angular.js, Ionic, and Cordova.
