BACKGROUND

Introduce your business and what you do there.

We are starting up a mobile app for learning foreign languages for travelers, we’re in the early stages. I'm the Cofounder, it’s just two of us.

OPPORTUNITY

What challenge were you trying to address with FullStack Labs?

We don’t have a developer. We needed someone who could create the app and the design aspect. They were able to create the design for us as well. Another reason we went with them was because of the native program they use that allows them to create the app both with iOS and Android easily.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We started out by meeting with them figuring out what our needs and goals were. After two meetings of just talking, we showed them our wireframe of what we wanted. They offered input on design, asked questions about the look and functionality. Not only were we creating the look but they gave us feedback about how customers might respond to it. We met in person and web conference. They were making those updates until what we envisioned was actually created.

How did you come to work with FullStack Labs?

I found them through an online search. I was looking for someone that was local enough that I could meet them face-to-face before I started working with them on the technology. They had an office in downtown Sacramento. They were highly rated and the reviews were very positive. It gave me the initial confidence to reach out to them.

Could you provide a sense of the size of this initiative in financial terms?

About 250 hours

What is the status of this engagement?

The design prototype has been completed.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We’re happy with the way it looks. We’ve shown it to a few of our potential users. In terms of design they’re very satisfied. There’s one challenge in terms of having speech recognition.

How did FullStack Labs perform from a project management standpoint?

Very organized, they were always telling us what our current and future steps are. They’re meeting deadlines. They keep us up to date.

What did you find most impressive about them?

We really liked that they were smaller and local. The larger companies didn’t feel personal. David, the owner, has a lot of experience in the tech industry. He was able to offer us some advice that was outside of creating the app. Talking to us about our plans for growing the business. He gave us some tips. That was nice to have.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No. I might have some thoughts after working on the app. We’re really satisfied right now.
